Battleground Poll: Most Union Household Members Who Are Expected to Vote Oppose Clinton-Kaine Ticket

In this campaign cycle, Big Labor is expected to spend close to two billion dollars, mostly dues and fees employees are forced to fork over as a condition of employment, to elect Clinton-Kaine. But a recent scientific nationwide poll shows that, among likely voters who belong to a union household, 51% plan to vote against Big Labor's presidential ticket. AFL-CIO czar Richard Trumka and other top union bosses are going all out to ensure Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine are the next President and Vice President of the United States.  Towards that end, union bigwigs are expected to spend close to two billion dollars in the 2015-2016 campaign cycle on supposedly “nonpartisan” voter registration campaigns, get-out-the-vote drives, propaganda mailings and leaflets, salaries and benefits for union staff members who have already for weeks been “volunteering” on politics full-time and will continue to do so until November 8, etc.

The vast majority of these activities will be financed by union dues and fees that millions of American employees are forced by federal or state law to pay, on pain of being fired if they refuse.

Based on their decades and decades of previous electoral experience, Trumka and other union bigwigs must have known from the start that roughly 65% of the workers whose forced-dues money is being funneled into Clinton-Kaine will vote for another presidential ticket, or for none at all. In 2012, 42% of the union household members who voted in the presidential race backed candidates other than the Big Labor-favored Obama-Biden team.  And more than 42% of all adult union household members nationwide opted not to cast a ballot for President.  That means roughly  two-thirds of all union household members voted for candidates running against Obama-Biden, or didn’t vote at all.

Nevertheless, an estimated $1.7 billion extracted by Big Labor from unionized workers’ paychecks served as the bulwark of the Obama-Biden re-election campaign as well as the campaigns of thousands of other pro-forced unionism candidates at the federal, state and local levels.

Now it’s apparent from a recently released George Washington University (GWU) Battleground poll that, even just among the union household members who cast ballots in the presidential race this year, a majority may vote against the Clinton-Kaine ticket.

The cross-tabs regarding how various demographic groups of likely voters feel about the candidates and various national issues, as well as how they intend to vote, are available at the link below. The GWU Battleground scientific nationwide survey was conducted just before Labor Day, and the results were released last week.

The survey data on p. 52 of the file linked below show that 53% of the likely voters in union households nationwide have an unfavorable view of Hillary Clinton.  The survey data on p. 116 show that just 47% of likely voters in union households plan to back Clinton-Kaine, while 51% favor another ticket. Just 2% are undecided.

Even if a majority of the workers who pay forced union dues and fees supported Big Labor’s partisan political agenda, it would be wrong for union bosses to spend the conscripted money of workers who disagreed to cancel out their votes, or support a particular candidate when they favored none.

But the recent Battleground poll simply adds to the mountain of evidence that the forced dues-fueled union political machine is in reality bankrolling a partisan electioneering agenda that the vast majority of the union rank and file don’t support. The fact is, Richard Trumka and his cohorts are the political oppressors of union members and their families.
