Jimmy Hoffa, the boss of the Teamsters union, is prone to exaggeration and scare tactics. His recent tirade about Mitt Romney is just the latest example.
Hoffa said that Romney’s election would “annihilate” Big Labor. Of course, Hoffa is referring to Romney’s support for a National Right to Work law that would make sure that worker’s in all fifty states are not forced to join a union. Should the law pass, Hoffa would have to convince worker’s that their membership is beneficial as he would no longer have the ability to coerce them into joining and paying dues.
If Boss Hoffa can’t convince his members of his worth, then it appears he has done more to damage Big Labor than Mr. Romney ever could.
