More Politics; More Dues Hikes

Just like many of the politicians they support, labor union officials have no problem raising taxes on working folks.

This week, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) approved a new “per capita tax” chargeable to its local affiliates. The additional “per capita tax” will raise $60 million from 2007 to 2009 with the increased fees and $60 million per year after that.

Why does AFSCME want more forced-dues dollars?

According to the Associated Press, AFSCME Union Boss Gerald McEntee recently explained, “In 2004, progressives lost our third straight election, politicians who won were more viciously anti-union than ever.”

Blind to the cancer destroying unions from within, Mr. McEntee and other Big Labor Bosses fail to understand.

It’s not more “anti-union,” it’s more “anti-FORCED unionism.”
