The Right to Work movement continues to grow as legislation in Minnesota and Michigan have been introduced.
Minnesota state Rep. Steve Drazkowski and state Sen. Dave Thompson proposed a bill last week that would allow Minnesotans to vote in November on a constitutional amendment giving employees the freedom to choose whether they want to join a union.
In Michigan, public opinion favors enactment of a Right to Work law but some in the establishment, including the Republican governor, won’t cross the power-brokers in big labor. Minnesotans face a different problem, multi-millionaire Gov. Mark Dayton refuses to support Right to Work protections for workers.
