The union bosses are – yet again – exploiting a recent foiled terrorist attack and playing politics with our national security.
As President Obama has made clear, the nomination of Erroll Southers to head the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is just the first step toward a larger goal, and that is the passage (or bureaucratic implementation) of H.R. 1881, legislation that would force all TSA employees under union boss control.
Mr. Southers’ nomination should not be allowed to go forward until the Obama Administration publicly and clearly recants its stated intention to force monopoly bargaining upon those workers.
That’s why it’s vital you call your U.S. Senators TODAY and demand that they vote against the nomination of Erroll Southers to head the TSA.

Under H.R. 1881, union officials would be granted monopoly bargaining privileges over TSA employees, preventing direct management by the executive branch.
As a result, all authorities would be forced to seek permission from union officials before making personnel decisions — potentially endangering our national security.
Currently, the executive branch has the authority to exempt federal workers from monopoly bargaining rules if the workers are part of national security or intelligence programs.
In fact, current law automatically excludes employees of the FBI and CIA from union monopoly bargaining due to the extremely sensitive nature of work they do.
TSA employees are also currently exempted, due to the importance of their jobs.
No labor organization should ever be allowed to interfere with the essential functions of government or with the effective defense of our country.
Neither should any labor organization be able to exploit a national crisis to increase its own forced-dues treasury.
The executive branch must retain the freedom to manage the defense and security of our country. This cannot be done if TSA employees are placed under the monopoly control of union officials whose main objective is to extract more union revenue from more workers.
I urge you to call your U.S. Senators and tell them to oppose the nomination of Erroll Southers to head TSA until President Obama publicly pledges to oppose H.R. 1881 or any other legislation or executive policy that would force all TSA employees under union boss control.

And, if at all possible, please make your most generous contribution today to help the National Right to Work Committee fight back against this disturbing Big Labor payoff that could jeopardize our country’s defense.
But most importantly, call your U.S. Senators IMMEDIATELY and demand that they vote against Erroll Southers’ nomination to head the TSA.
Sincerely,
Doug Stafford,
Vice President
P.S. The U.S. Senate could vote any day now to confirm Erroll Southers as the new head of the TSA — just the first step toward a larger goal of forcing all TSA employees under union boss control.
That’s why it’s vital you call your U.S. Senators at once and demand they vote against Erroll Southers’ TSA confirmation.
And if you can, please make your most generous contribution today.
