Trash Piles up in Union-Boss Stronghold Cities
The Teamsters garbage strike in and around Boston has been even uglier and more dangerous than DC 33’s, which ended July 9.
The Los Angeles Times reports that two labor unions in California have spent a remarkable $318 million influencing public officials in the last decade. The Teacher Association spent $211.8 million and the California State Council of Service Employees spent $107.4 million. Of course, there are hundreds of other local unions that are engaged in similar activities so it is safe to say the union bosses spent more than a $1 billion in California alone.
In a separate article, Big Government notes that two-thirds of the jobs “saved or created” by the stimulus package are of the government union dues-paying variety.
