Union stagehand Duane Hammond, part of the crew that built the platform for the Obama event in California, was fired for wearing a USS George Bush sweatshirt. His son is currently serving in the Navy on the George Bush.
***UPDATE: Duane Hammond says union officials called him this afternoon to apologize for the incident. He say they are “bending over backwards” to make it up to him.
