SEIU Donations to Obama: Exceed $16.5 Million

Can you imagine if some corporation gave John McCain nearly $20 million? But without even a whimper of protests from the campaign finance do-gooders, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) political action committees have given Barack Obama $13.53 million directly and spent nearly another $4 million to oppose John McCain’s campaign.

This news comes on the heels of a National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission that challenges the legality of the union fundraising strategy adopted this summer at the SEIU annual convention. A copy of the complaint can be found here.
