Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to Bring 3,850 Jobs to RTW Michigan
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has plans to invest $1.6 billion toward expanding vehicle production in Michigan. In addition, they will also hire about 3,850 new workers. This investment is also part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ overall plan to invest $4.5 billion over several years. This, in total, will create around 6,500 new jobs. So this will all be good news for the economy and job market of people in the Detroit area.

The new Detroit Assembly Complex – Mack, is the first new automotive assembly plant in the city of Detroit in 30 years. It brings an additional 3,850 new jobs to the city of Detroit and expands the limited capacity of the current Jefferson North Assembly Plant or JNAP, which currently builds the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2) and the recently revised 2021 Dodge Durango (WD).
Although the pandemic put a brief hold on the construction of the plant, the project is almost complete. Pre-production pilot models have been running in a limited capacity for the past few weeks now[…] Most of the plant’s new hires have already begun training at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant or WTAP, which has undergone a massive revamp.
