Majority of Employees at Emporia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Seek to Remove SEIU Union
Emporia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center plans decertification election to remove “Workers United Mid Atlantic Regional Joint Board” union officials
Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center workers have been represented by the SEIU Local 1107 for some time. However, the workers seem to all agree that the union doesn’t represent them appropriately. So in a recent vote, the workers voted them out with a not-so-shocking win of 39-13. This means the union will be decertified, freeing up to 64 hospital staff members.
From Becker’s Hospital Review:
“The hospital understands from the employees that they did not feel that the union represented them well, and that they prefer to have a direct relationship with the hospital’s leadership,” Desert Springs spokesperson Gretchen Papez told Becker’s.
