CLAW Forestry Services is investing $200 million in order to add a new location in Right to Work Gloster, Mississippi, creating 131 new jobs.
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance for infrastructure improvements and site development. Amite County also is assisting with the project.
The new mill will require in excess of 1 million tons of timber annually to produce approximately 250 million board feet of lumber, company officials explained.
In connection with the new facility, efforts are underway to resume operation of the Gloster Southern Railroad to further revitalize industry and jobs in the underserved community. Carpenter Pole and Piling is investing $3.57 million in order to add a new location in Right to Work Waynesboro, Mississippi, creating 15 new jobs.
