Since Big Labor-backed legislation repealing Right to Work protections for employees went into effect in early 2024, the state has gone from adding jobs to losing them.
Since Michigan is bleeding jobs and union members, the state has found an innovative and perhaps unconstitutional way of forcing people to join a union — declare private companies public.
Once public the company becomes part of the government employee workers union. At some point Michigan’s leaders will rise up against the union stranglehold that has chocked economic growth from the state but apparently they are not there yet.
